SNEAKER OF THE DAY 1/26/11
I didn't get a chance to watch any college games last night but when I did get home I got a chance to check out the highlights and I was searching for the Sneaker of The Day and I found it when I came across the Xavier vs George Washington highlights. Terrell "Tu Tu" Holiday is the point guard for Xavier University and him being from New York would think he has some type of swag even though he's from somewhere in the country of New York(a place called Long Island). Long story short TU TU wore the air Jordan 11 25th anniversary in last night's game and clearly had on the hottest shoe in the country. TU TU is our winner for Sneaker Of The Day.
SNEAKER OF THE DAY 1/22/11
Just when you thought I was taking a break, "IM BACKKKKKKKKKKKKK" and I'm coming back with the HEAT! If you were watching college basketball last Saturday you saw Villanova beat Syracuse. With Villanova in a bit of shooting slump everybody thought it would be an easy win for Syracuse. That wasn't the case on Saturday morning because Nova came out raining 3's. The sharp shooting from Nova wasn't the most interesting thing that took place during the game. The biggest surprise was Villanova guard Corey Fisher wearing the classic Bo Jackson Trainer's. Me and Corey talk about once a week and known each other since childhood and every time we speak we always talk about what new kicks we got or have to get. This won't be Corey's last Sneaker of The Day award because I know he will continue to bring out the HEAT!

BRONX BIG MAN HITS BUZZER BEATER FALLING DOWN!!!
Big shout out to Tennessee Center and Bronx native Brian Williams for hitting the game winning shot at the buzzer to beat the Georgia Bulldogs 59-57. Here's a replay of Williams game winning put back as time expired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SzcrOPCHP8
SNEAKER OF THE DAY 1/17/11
Sorry that I'm a day late on the sneaker of the day but I was trying to find a good pic of our "SNEAKER OF THE DAY" winner Uconn's Shabazz Napier in his Air Jordan retro 11 cool greys. Also in the picture is our runner up and I'm only doing a runner up for this game because he hit the game winner with a "RUNNER". Runner up is Kemba Walker with Air Jordan 7 Olympic For The Love Of The Game. As soon as I walked into Gampel Pavillion and seen Uconn shooting around I looked and Shabazz had on the cool greys and I said to myself "WE HAVE OUR WINNER". Besides the best sneaker Bazz also had the best pass of the game when he looked over at us in the crowd, jumped in the air and made a no-look pass to Jamal Macoombs-McDaniel for the lay-up. I remember one time in the second half Shabazz went to the free throw line and Dyree Wilson said to me "He's crushing kids dreams across the country by playing in those cool greys". I told Dyree Shabazz won the sneaker of the day award hands down.

BRONX BOMBERS. Kemba Walker and Corey Fisher Put on A Show!
What a game. What a game. As you can see from the picture above I was in attendance at today's game. Watching the two best point guards go at it is a great sight to see but seeing it live sitting in the 2nd row is way better than seeing it on channel 36, even if it's on HD. Kemba Walker vs Corey Fisher and both players had wonderful games but fisher's supporting cast was no where to be found. Corey finished the game with 28 points and no other player on Villanova reached double figures. Antonia Pena missed a few short jumpers that usually go in for him but otherwise nobody else came to play. Kemba finished with 24 points including a "Kashif Pratt like floater" with 2.4 seconds left to win the game. The score was close the whole game and the two kids from the Bronx put on a show. It was just so great to see them two play great games and keep it competitive. After the game I shared laughs and memories with Corey and Kemba and not once did we even talk about the game. Coach Nick, junior high school coach of Kemba and Corey made it out to Storrs, Ct for the game and boy did he enjoy himself. Both players were very surprised to see Coach Nick and he was so happy to see his boys. I would like to say great game to Corey and Kemba you really made the Bronx and the whole new york city proud. For highlights of the game and recap by ESPN Analyst Andy Katz who happen to be sitting directly in front of me go to http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=310170041

Kemba VS Corey The day NYC Has Been Waiting for
Less than 24 hours away from the game everybody has been waiting for; Uconn vs Villanova or Kemba Walker vs Corey Fisher. Tomorrow at 3:30pm eastern every sports fan in NYC will be watching Uconn vs Nova. Both teams are on fire this year, #7 Nova 16-1 overall and 4-0 in Big East play and #9 Uconn 14-2 overall and 3-2 in Big East play. On paper Nova has the best team but who knows the outcome with the way Kemba Walker has been playing. Kemba is coming off a 31 point performance in his last game and Corey 17 points in his last game. Both players know each others game very well since they're from the same neighborhood. Even though everybody wants to see the Corey vs Kemba matchup tomorrow, if I'm either one of these coaches I don't let that happen. Both players are very craft at drawing fouls and both are very aggressive on the defensive end. Kemba is clearly the best player on his team and Corey is clearly the best on his team. If one of these players happen to foul out or get in foul trouble that may be the ball game for their team. I see big games from both of them especially seeing that these are two of my favorite college players. I honestly hope both teams supporting cast plays well too. I don't want this game to be a blowout. I want to see a 50 minute THRILLER. Notice I said "50 minute" so yes I would love to see double overtime. I would like to say good luck to my big brother Corey and my little brother Kemba. I would to see what you guys predict for this game so please feel free to comment. We can even have some debates if enough people comment.
SNEAKER OF THE DAY
Like I said I was going to do, everyday I'm going to see which player has on the hottest sneaker. Today the winner is St. Johns guard Dwight Hardy. Dwight didn't win because he's family to me but because today he pulled out the Air Jordan 3 retro cement. I couldv'e easily not given this award to him because I had mine for about 10 days already but I know Dwight and every so often he's going to pull out some heat and today he did just that. Not only did he pull out the Jordan 3's but his St. Johns squad beat #11 ranked Notre Dame at the Garden. Dwight finished with 12 points 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Was it the SHOES?
Corey Fisher is an NBA Point Guard
If you ask anybody who is one of the best one on one players in the game there's a 98% chance the name Corey Fisher will come up. Fisher has been getting it done on and off the court since he has stepped foot on the campus of Villanova University. Whether it's breaking the press, hitting a big three, setting up a teammate for a basket, or getting to the basket himself, Corey Fisher is the guy. Currently fisher is averaging 15 points and 5 assist per game and we will see those numbers go up because I know the talent that Fisher has. Corey is strong, great shooter, and most importantly has a big HEART. Whenever things get sloppy for Villanova you see #10 get the ball and make a play to get his team on track. Yesterday his team was down 12 points late in the 2nd half and then it was Fisher time. Villanova went on a 19-0 run and fisher started it with an 8-0 run of his own. Fisher finished the game with 17 points and 5 assists and Nova got the win 74-66 behind the senior leadership of Corey Fisher.
The Return of CURTIS KELLY
I remember it like it was yesterday seeing this 6'6 12 year old kid playing in a cyo playoff game in sweatpants because they didn't have shorts to fit him. That 6'6 12 year old kid was Curtis Kelly. Me and the rest of my aau teammates told him we would like for him to come play on our team and we have shorts for him so he wouldn't have to play in sweatpants anymore. We played aau together and went to high school together along with our other aau teammate Edgar Sosa. The three of us were inseparable, whenever you seen one of us you knew the other two were somewhere in the area. We stayed in the same hotel room on every aau trip and sat next to each other when we had team meals. I can go on and on with stories about our childhood but I'm here to talk about yesterday's game Curtis had against Texas Tech. After a six game suspension, Saturday was the return of Kansas State center Curtis Kelly. In "Dirty Curt's" return he posted 12 points and 5 rebounds including two monster dunks in 28 minutes of action. During the suspension we have been talking to each other and all he kept saying was how he couldn't wait to get back on the court and that he thanks God for another chance. Kelly by far is one of the most talented if not the most talented big man in the country. He's a 6'9 left hander with a soft touch and a wonderful spin move around the basket. Here's an article discussing the game yesterday and a few quotes from Kelly on how it felt to be back out there on the court. http://www.themercury.com/K-StateSports/article.aspx?articleId=d08732504f17409c88f78b9482dbe196
TRUCK Has to be the DRIVER for West Virginia to go far
West Virginia starting off 0-2 in the Big East was not a good look for the defending Big East champions. Since there 0-2 skid the Mountaineers have been on a three game winning streak thanks to high scoring of Senior guard Casey Mitchell, but what might not show up in the highlights is the leadership of junior point guard Darryl Truck Bryant. During the winning streak Truck is averaging 10ppg and 4apg. That may not be the exciting numbers that we're used to seeing Bryant have but if you're watching the games you can see he makes the team go. Everybody knows Bryant can overpower most guards with his strong frame so teams are waiting for him in the paint. Truck is now starting the games off being the distributor and coming up with the big plays when his team needs it as we witnessed in the win against Depaul when Truck drove to the basket got fouled and still made the hoop giving his team a 3 point lead wit under a minute to play. Today West Virginia takes on #8 Purdue University on CBS at 1:30pm eastern time and I expect a big game from Truck.
