Duo From New York Getting the Job Done in Louisiana

If you don't know Will Pratt(No Relation) and Devon Baker get to know them. Pratt and Baker are two kids from NYC showing the Southland Conference how we play basketball in New York. Pratt and Baker are the leading scorers for a 10-8 Northwestern State team; Pratt 17.6ppg and Baker at 15ppg and no other player is in double figures. Pratt says Natchitoches, Louisiana is very different from New York but says the community has embraced him and Baker and show them lots of love and makes them feel right at home. Pratt told me his goal is to win a championship, or as he put it "I NEED A RING". Pratt wants to be the leader of the team and is doing his best to be there when his team needs a basket, a stop, or simply just a good play. Pratt and Baker said playing on a team where another player is from the same place as you is a plus, especially when home is far away. Even though their teammates and fans make them feel at home, Baker and Pratt knows they have each other. Pratt's career high in points came in Northwestern State's last game where Pratt scored 30 points in an 80-79 win over Central Arkansas where Devon Baker forced the game to an overtime by hitting two free throws to tie the game 73-73 with 3 seconds left in the game. Baker scored 13 points in that win. The next game for Northwestern State is tomorrow Wednesday Jan 19,2011vs University of Texas-San Antonio. Make sure you try and catch a game, these guys won't let you down.
